Community Hour
We believe in giving back to our local community and working collaboratively with other local groups where we can.
Members of our railway give up some of their weekday time, roughly once a month, to support our local community through our community hour initiative. We work with a small, selected group of nurseries, schools and care organisations, to offer exclusive access to the railway for educational visits and for people who maybe disadvantaged or disabled.

Let's talk accessibility
We feel that EVERYONE should be able to access and make special memories on our railway. Whilst we definitely have some logistical limitations we try to make the attraction as accessible as possible.

-
We have wide gates on and off our station area to allow wheelchair access right upto the train. Carers must then be able to assist wheel chair users to sit on the train carriages.
-
Our platform is completely flat, no steps to negotiate.
-
We can offer quiet running. Normally our team will toot the train horns during the ride, but we can restrict the use of the horns to emergency use only. (Please request this at the station).
If you have any other needs, please speak to a member of the team and we will try our very best to accommodate where possible. Let's make memories for EVERYONE.
Supporting the Lancashire Wildlife Trust
We like to collaborate with other organisations and charities when the opportunity arises. In December 2024 we are supporting The Lancashire Wildlife Trust to enhance their Breakfast with Santa event at Moss Bank Park, Bolton.
On the 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd December events people have the option to upgrade their Breakfast with Santa ticket to include a festive sweet treat and an enchanting ride on our railway!
Bookings must be made in advance via the Lancashire Wildlife Trust website.
